Leadership without kindness = weakness

This quote perfectly summarizes a topic that crosses my mind almost daily.

Having worked in the music and events business for close to 15 years, I have had plenty of time to closely observe and work with major celebrities and hotshot executives.

It is with great pleasure that I am able to report what I have found to be an absolute fact –

Only those who express kindness as a principle are truly powerful.

No amount of fame, money or accolades holds the key to true power.  None of these things go with us when we leave this life…and not one of us is immune to leaving this life.

At the end of the day, when stripped of our possessions, awards and other relics of success, we are left only with our heart; our soul.  It is what we have done with that heart and soul that matters…nothing else is real.

We can all recall an experience when someone expressed a simple kindness that absolutely changed our day…and sometimes our life.  We can all recall a person who seems to light up the room when they enter, extending warmth to each person whom they encounter.

These people change the world.  These people inspire.

Nothing is more impressive than a person who chooses to be loving when they could so easily use their fortune, fame or influence to lord over others, in an act of self-importance.  The man or woman who walks in grace and kindness is truly awe-inspiring; their example alone can inspire many to follow in their step.

The weaker humans of our time hold the false belief that they will risk losing respect by being nice.  But they are missing the point –

Only the most powerful people in the world are secure enough to be vulnerable and lead with love.  Only the most powerful people understand that kindness and love benefits everyone involved, while judgment and negativity depletes everyone involved.

I am unclear why we still seem to be living in the Dark Ages in this respect.  But I do know, that as each of us chooses to lead with kindness and love, others will notice the difference.  Others will notice the TRUE POWER that comes with “choosing to be kind, rather than right”, as the fabulous Dr. Wayne Dyer says.

Wishing everyone a beautiful day!
Meghan
